    Jamie Humphreys is a Commercial Litigation Associate in our London office. He has a broad range of experience acting for governments, companies and individuals on national and international disputes, with a recent focus on civil fraud. He has experience of English, Caribbean and Hong Kong court proceedings, as well as mediations and arbitrations.

    Jamie trained with the firm and qualified in 2008. He spent six months on secondment to one of the firm's major oil and gas clients. He spent four months in the firm's Hong Kong office helping to establish its litigation department. Jamie also edit the firm's anti-corruption Blog and Twitter account.

    • Settling a dispute between the Lotus Group and related companies and our client, the former CEO of Lotus, over his claim for damages for wrongful dismissal and their counterclaim totalling £20-£30 million involving issues of breach of contract, breach of directors’ duties, and breach of fiduciary duties.
    • Acting for the Turks and Caicos Islands Government on its civil recovery programme, involving the resolution of a wide range of disputes before the local Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, and the Privy Council; addressing issues of bribery, breach of fiduciary duties, constructive trusts, unjust enrichment, stamp duty evasion, breach of Crown leases, and trespass.
    • Resolving a dispute for a leading international manufacturer over product liability issues arising from a recall initiated by a customer.
    • Advising a provider of ship security services on debt recovery and coordinating the arrest of a ship in Estonia.
    • Acting for a global steel company on multiple disputes over international supply contracts and service contracts.
    • Advising a group of individuals in Hong Kong on the settlement of a claim for misrepresentation against their real estate agents for a failed Thai property development scheme.
    • Advising a British funk band on a successful claim for royalties under its agreement with a collections agency.
    • Acting for a large oil and gas company in an offshore pipeline dispute.
    • Assisting on several successful libel actions on behalf of Sheikh Khalid Bin Mahfouz against various publishers and authors.

    Jamie and his partner Cassi have two young sons who keep him very busy. He enjoys cooking and eating good food, travel off the beaten track, playing football and pilates.
