    Emma is an associate in the Business Law Department. Emma trained with the Firm and has also spent time on secondment at one of the world's leading luxury brand groups and the Financial Services Authority. Emma is currently on a six month secondment to our Chicago office.

    • Advised MVC Capital on the leveraged acquisition of Gibdock Limited, the holding company for the former Royal Navy dockyards in Gibraltar.

    • Advised the shareholders of Goal.com, the world's largest football portal, in connection with its sale to Perform Media Services Limited, and on Goal.com's pre-sale corporate subsidiary restructuring.

    • Assisted Citibank with the sale of a book of non-performing mortgages business to Deutsche bank.

    • Assisted with a substantial due diligence exercise and the preparation of a vendor due diligence report in connection with the auction sale of a client's business.

    • Advised Textron, Inc. on the acquisition of a UK-based aircraft services business.

    • Advised shareholders of a private members club for families on the sale of their shareholdings to an existing shareholder.

    • Assisted with, leading online high-fashion retailer, My Wardrobe's Series B financing.

    • Advised Swoop.com, a Delaware incorporated online advertising business, in respect of its Series B investment round.

    • Advising an online retailer and an online advertising business on ongoing corporate governance issues.

    • Acted for a UK lender on an asset based lending facility.


    Six month secondment to leading luxury brand group

    • Managed the process and production of a brand's freelancer and consultancy agreements.

    • Assisted with updating brands' website terms and conditions, privacy policies and data protection policies.

    • Assisted with drafting commercial retail agreements, with a particular focus on IP.

    • Advised on the protection and enforcement of IP rights of portfolio brands.

    • Assisted with drafting licensing agreements. 
       

    Six month secondment to the Enforcement and Financial Crime Division of the Financial Services Authority

    • Assisted in regulatory and criminal investigations in relation to breaches of the FSA’s rules and provisions of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

    • Drafted a number of investigation reports, statutory notices and settlement agreements.

    • Prepared submissions to present to the Regulatory Decisions Committee in relation to the inadequate handling of numerous mortgage arrears cases by a mortgage brokerage.

    Before Edwards Wildman

    Emma read law at the University of Southampton and spent a year studying international law at the University of Hong Kong. She then completed her Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in Holborn whilst working as a legal officer at a leading cancer charity. In the months leading up to her training contract, Emma spent six months working on community development programmes and travelling in South America.

    Besides Edwards Wildman

    Emma enjoys participating in a wide range of fitness and sporting activities, ranging from yoga to mountaineering. Emma has a passion for travel, and when she's not spending time with her family and friends, she enjoys reading and photography.

    Emma is a member of the firm's Pro Bono Committee and regularly undertakes casework in support of the LawWorks charity.
